Our funding from SSHERC for our Insight Development Grant came to a close on May 31st, 2019, and we’re slowly bringing the project to a close, by presenting on Coaching Indigenous Accents at the 2019 VASTA Conference in Orlando, FL on August 4–7, 2019. We’re preparing an article for the Voice and Speech Review on the results of our focus-group-based research on the training and use of  accents in theatre, film, and television by Indigenous actors in Canada. Our thanks go to our student and professional research assistants over the course of the project: Elan Marchinko, Brefny Caribou-Curtin, Nishina Loft, Katie German, and Cameron Adams.
